Electronic Theater

Thanks to advances in computer graphics technology, storytelling continues to expand and resonate in impactful ways.

Traveling Show

Advancing storytelling through wide range of industries.

The SIGGRAPH Computer Animation Festival, a qualifying festival by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, brings the computer graphics community together to celebrate and showcase the best storytelling in short and feature films, visual effects, games, advertisements, scientific visualizations and more.

In 2020, the Electronic Theater seeks to elevate storytellers and innovators, highlighting their passion and ingenuity, and feature industries that have never been represented before. We invite narratives from themed entertainment experiences to visualizations from automotive, defense, scientific, and health-care communities, in addition to more traditional computer animation projects.

An internationally recognized jury reviews hundreds of submissions and presents the best work of the year, with awards for Best in Show, Jury’s Choice, and Best Student Project. Since 1999, several works presented in the Computer Animation Festival have been nominated for or have received the Best Animated Short Academy Award.
