DescriptionThis project centers around the neurological phenomenon known as "flavor-to-vision synesthesia" and develops an original method in 3D design through a collaborative practice-based research with real synesthetes. The final result is a set of 3D-printed and treated artefacts that creatively represent the otherwise abstract synesthetic perception of flavors.

DescriptionWe propose a novel paradigm for concurrent editing of vector geometry. Our method automatically establishes an editing context, which encompasses similar Bezier geometry within a graphic object (local repetition), as well as multiple instances of entire objects (global repetition).

DescriptionWe present a direct approach to the problem of quadrangulating a triangle mesh by parametrization. We formulate the problem as a smooth optimization problem by minimizing a collection of penalty functions that penalize violation of the conditions for the parameterization to form a valid quad mesh on the 3D surface.

DescriptionWe propose a digital fabrication method that can print reusable objects rapidly using the clay material.
We developed a magnetic force control device and a magnetic thermoplastic material. When the user creates a shape model on the screen, the clay material instantly changes to the shape of the designed model.

DescriptionI present a web-based experience named Wanderlust into (y)our past, which aims to mediate the broken intimacy of couples and families in the COVID-19 quarantined life where they need to coexist together all the time in a confined space. This paper describes backgrounds, approaches, ongoing functional prototype, and future direction.
